Project 4: Gig Poster

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

CHOICE OF GENRE: Hip-Hop

BAND/TYPE OF MUSIC: Epik High, Hip-Hop/Alternative Hip-Hop/Rap

Since this group is a hip-hop group, I wanted the poster to obviously reflect that particular genre. I tried doing this with images such as the turntables and the text. I looked at other images of posters for hip-hop events, breakdancing sessions, and the like in order to get ideas and inspiration. Here were some that I liked:

ARTIST:
I couldn't really find any specific names of artists under the hip hop art genre. Whenever I'd type in "hip hop artists" on google or google images, it would always come out with 50 Cent or something. Lame. I did find some pretty cool graffiti art and names of graffiti art groups and featured artists all over this site though.

Anyways, I'm going to work on this poster more. I was going for simplicity mainly, but after looking at some other posters in this particular genre, I would like to try more things.
